Designing Blues

There is nothing more disheartening than finding someone else has published the pattern that you were currently working on. It happened to me this morning as I was browsing my blog feeds on Feedly.

But that is life. It is not unusual for more than one person to come up with the same idea. You just have to browse Ravelry to see this. If you would like to see what I had in mind then check out the latest beauty by Veera Valimaki Halfway There. Veera is one of my favourite designers.

Here's a little peek at what I was doing (sorry gratuitous kitty photo). I was using four colours rather than three. My colour choices were to reflect the early morning fog over water.

The yarn is Quince & Co Tern in Oyster, Beach Glass, Boothbay Blue and Back Bay.

So what do I do now? Well I come up with a new idea :-). I will still have the crescent shape and the stripes but it will be different. Might run the colours together rather than having the lighter colour between them. Stripes might be wider. Who knows. Shall just have to sit down and knit and see what happens.

Keep smiling :-)
